Freelance work as a UK wedding DJ for PianoDJ: £25,000 – £50,000 per annum
Performances at weddings and events across Europe (Ibiza, Spain, France, Italy, etc)

Must live within a 45min drive of warehouse in Hatfield Broad Oak for work in the UK

Due to the late working hours involved with being a DJ, all applicants must be 18+.

Driving License
All applicants must hold a clean UK driving license.

Trainee Wedding DJ Job Summary
To train as a wedding DJ and learn all of the skills required to become a freelance wedding DJ for PianoDJ.

The Trainee Wedding DJ job will include:

1) Working at wedding venues around the UK with current PianoDJ freelance DJs at several events a week. This work will include moving and setting up equipment, driving vans and on-the-job DJ training. Some heavy lifting will be involved for all events. All event work will mean working away from home and can include early starts, long days, late nights and overnight stays.
2) Practicing and learning the musical skills required for DJing. This will include personal training sessions with the owner of PianoDJ.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

1) Assist current wedding DJs with loading vans, driving vans and setting up equipment at weddings.
2) Learn how to and become highly proficient at transporting and installing DJ rigs, grand pianos, sound systems, lighting rigs.
3) Learn how to use and become highly proficient at using DJ mixers and controllers.
4) Learn the extensive music repertoire required for weddings and become proficient at playing it live at weddings.
5) Learn good public speaking skills and how to interact with high-end clients.
6) Learn how to use and become highly proficient at using live sound desks for live bands.
7) Learn basic book keeping skills and invoicing required for working as a freelance wedding DJ.
8) Learn how to and become highly proficient at selling wedding DJ services at wedding fairs, trade shows and over the phone.

Person-Profile: Trainee Wedding DJ

A friendly, credible, tolerant and mature person with a huge passion for music. Must be self-driven, reliable, hard working, fast learning, confident, enthusiastic person who has a desire to become an incredible DJ. Must be a good time keeper and always punctual. An empathic communicator who is able to see things from the other person’s point of view and able to speak charmingly to clients in person and on the telephone. Keen for responsibility and accountability and a desire to get on with others and embrace the nature of a small family-run business. Ability to take instruction from management and colleagues.

Personal Situation
Must be able to commute reliably to office base in Allens Green and warehouse in Hatfield Broad Oak. Clean driving licence with no recent insurance claims. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required. Able to work flexible days and times. Must be able to work Thursday – Sunday. Must be available to work June – October. May be striving financially but not desperate or in serious debt.

Musical Skills
Must be able to demonstrate an existing passion for music. No previous experience of DJing is required, but a preference will be shown to applicants who already have some form of technical competence on a DJ controller/mixer/decks or another musical instrument.

Specific Job Skills
Able to play music and speak on a microphone in front of an audience of 100+ people. Able to move DJ equipment, speakers, lights, grand pianos in and out of vans and into venues after being shown how to do so. Able to consistently represent the high quality and service level of the company when working at events. Keen to learn and become an expert in the field of playing music for weddings. An understanding of the services offered by the company, the general running order of a wedding and what music would be appropriate would be considered an advantage.

Computer skills:
Must be adept in use of the internet and email software. Must be able to learn how to use DJ and lighting software. Prior experience of Serato DJ or Rekordbox software would be considered an advantage.

Literacy and Numeracy:
Must be able to read, understand and apply the details included in the logistics for each event. Able to understand basic financial calculations associated with creating invoices.

Business and Selling Skills:
Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. Able to demonstrate a friendly, helpful and supportive conversational style even under pressure.
