Old Hollywood Wedding Theme
An old Hollywood theme is fast becoming one of the most popular amongst engaged couples as it can offer so much variety and glamour for your day. For this theme think extravagant features that are instantly eye catching.
Rich colours such as deep reds work really well and can be used to pull lots of areas of your day together and will instantly give the day a colour theme. You could alternatively choose shades of cream and white and add sparkle as the focal point. Your floral displays should be big and bold and can be draped with additions such as pearls or crystal to add a vintage edge to the day.
For added wow factor why not consider a bridal bouquet that uses brooches, pearls and silk and lace flowers or a bouquet made entirely of feathers. Either of these options would make a stunning alternative to fresh flowers and will really add to the glamour that this theme evokes.
Traditionally a Hollywood theme tends to be formal in dress and decoration, so although not normally a colour you would associate with a wedding, in this instance black works really well for a glamorous theme such as this. Black tie for the groom and his men and black cocktail dresses with that touch of sparkle for the bridesmaids will look perfect for the occasion.
This theme leans heavily on art deco influences, which work well when used as the inspiration for your wedding stationery. Keep the look simple using a black font on cream card in an art deco style. Touches of gold will help to make it something special and can be used around the venue as an accent colour in areas such as your wedding crockery, glassware or chair covers.
A lot of couples choose to incorporate cinema into the day and choose items such as clapper boards or a vintage movie reel used as decoration, old style popcorn bags filled with treats on a sweet station or vintage usherette trays that you can use for your cards and presents.
This is a fun way of incorporating the items that were used when audiences watched a Hollywood film and will help to make your day a very special production indeed.
