Rustic Wedding Theme
A rustic theme is great for a couple who really want to focus on a more raw and natural feel for their day. Wood features heavily in this theme and can be utilised in items such as thin cuts of a tree trunk, which can be used in your centrepieces, or even as table mats. You could even take taller cuts of a tree trunk and use this to display items such as your cards or seating plan, for an original rustic table.
Another unique idea is to arrange your floral displays in wooden barrels as an unusual but stunning feature for your venue. Barrels come in various sizes so why not choose smaller versions and use them as part of your centrepieces.
Wooden pallets make a great backdrop on which to display framed photographs of you both and your family and friends. Stack several on top of one another in a corner of your venue to make a true feature that can not only include photographs but items that are special to you both, such as a poem, first gift from your partner, or a poster of the first film/concert/play you went to together.
Other un-treated materials can really be utilised for this theme, such as hessian or burlap for your chair tie’s, favour bags, or used to create a Mr and Mrs sign to be hung in your venue.
Country type varieties of flowers that are not too structured, will also look so pretty when arranged around your venue.
As this theme is all about using the natural, a great touch would be to hand stamp your invitations, menus and place names on an untreated paper for that added rustic feel. This has a very personal feel and will tie in really well with your simple but beautiful theme.
Some other lovely ideas for a rustic wedding theme are to fill metal buckets with bright flowers that can line the aisle, paper flowers arranged in jars or hung as a garland, hanging lanterns or hay bales as alternative seating.
These are just a few of the many elements that you can add to your rustic theme that will look perfect when all displayed together.
