Summer Fete Wedding Theme
What better way to make the most of a lovely summer’s day and the grounds of your chosen venue, than by planning a Summer Fete theme for your wedding day. This theme certainly has the fun factor and is all about combining bright, bold colours with a fairground twist. This theme gives you the chance to be interactive and set up activities and games for your guests that will keep them busy between the planned parts of your day.
A popular way to tackle this theme is to think of an old style fairground or carnival and use this as inspiration. The fonts are distinctive and will give your wedding stationery a playful edge, you could also then repeat the type face on signs that direct your guests around your summer fete extravaganza!
Games are a great way to make your guests feel involved and do not have to cost the earth. Think of coconut shies, skittles, fishing for ducks, darts, giant board games such as connect 4 or draughts which many event or props companies now hire out. You could also hire a popcorn, ice cream or candyfloss stall and use this either as an alternative to a dessert course or as an added extra sweet treat for your guests.
Decoration wise, we would suggest items such as brightly coloured bunting and paper pom pom’s, checked tablecloths, balloons, drinks served in glass milk bottles with coloured straws and a cake table to give that village fete feel.
This theme is big and bold and you should definitely not think subtle as the whole idea is to create an over the top day filled with bright, fun things that will make this a day to remember.
