Vintage Wedding Theme

A vintage wedding has a timeless charm that will bring an old world quality to your wedding day. There are so many decoration ideas that can be used to transform your venue into what you have always dreamed of for your special day.

The great thing about having a vintage theme, is that it is possible to achieve the look without spending a fortune buying authentic pieces from the era. Although this is a lovely touch if you can, or alternatively if you have decided to hire some larger vintage items to display, there is a large selection of vintage looking decor that will not include the original vintage price tag.

Some great ideas to look at include using items that you are used to seeing in a specific way, as something completely different, such as hanging various sized picture frames from the ceiling, which will create an interesting and unique backdrop. You can even go a step further by hanging small vases of flowers behind them, creating your very own real life picture.

Another would be to use vintage tea cups as candle holders, a simple tea light would look very pretty displayed in this way or alternatively create your own candles that will fill the whole cup. You can create candles specific to your colour scheme and this will be a great way to include a known vintage element, but with a twist.

Favourite’s include old suitcases used for collecting cards or gifts, or alternatively used to display your seating plan if you have a stack of them to hand. Birdcages used as centrepieces filled with flowers or pillar candles are also popular, as are hardback books, vintage keys tied to handwritten cards as place names or favours, jam jars tied with lace, fabric flowers, paper lanterns and touches of lace.

This charming theme will stay in fashion forever and years from now when you look back at your wedding photos it will be like they were taken yesterday – that’s the beauty of using a theme that only gets better with age.
